Acoustic Heartstrings

Acoustic Heartstrings have been together in this formation since late 2014 and are based out of Moncton NB… They have been well received playing at festivals all over the Maritimes and Quebec and have shared the stage with some of the greats such as Rhonda Vincent and the Rage, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Russell Moore & 111rd Tyme Out and The Gibson Brothers.

The members of the band consist of…
Vicki Vautour … sings lead and harmony vocals. She started singing at the age of 6 at local benefits in her hometown of Miramichi, NB up until moving to the Moncton area and starting her ‘on stage’ career with the group and has also recorded harmony vocals  with the well known country artist Johnny Burke.

Ron Savoie… plays guitar, sings lead and harmony vocals… originally from Miramichi, NB now residing in Moncton NB. Ron his bluegrass career in 1984 with Eddy Poirier & the Bluegrass 4 as an award winning mandolin player. He played guitar and lead vocals with the original Acoustic Horizon and then he played mandolin and fiddle with the multi- award winning Canadian Grass Unit.

Kyle Legere… plays banjo, guitar and sings harmony vocals.. originally from Amherst NS, now living in Cape Breton. Kyle has played with bands such as New Vintage, Janet McGarry and Blue Horizon. He also lends his talents to the celtic genre with the band Crowdis Bridge. Kyle is a multi instrumentalist and also a well respected songwriter.

Amon Savoie … plays dobro for the group. Now residing in the Moncton NB area, most of Amon’s musical career was while residing in Ontario where he was one of the founders of the award winning bluegrass band, Cross Country Grass, in which he received his Masters Dobro player award.

Edgar Bastarache … plays acoustic bass for the group. Residing in Moncton NB,  Edgar has played guitar and vocals with bluegrass band Timberland Express , and also bass and vocals periodically with Eddy Poirier & Grassline.

About Us

The Annual Nova Scotia Bluegrass & Oldtime Music Festival, Canada’s oldest continuously operating Bluegrass Festival is now produced at the Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition Grounds in Bible Hill near Truro, which is at the centre of Nova Scotia. The Downeast Bluegrass & Oldtime Music Society produces this event.

The site location has changed a few times over the years but the festival continues to produce some of the finest entertainment in Eastern Canada.
